4-K School Garden Program
NECOFA recruits schools, trains teachers and students on the technical skills of sustainable farming (composting, integrated pest management, etc.), food nutrition and value addition, and the organic certification process. It provides gardening equipment, and helps schools with obtaining computers for the children. The organization develops food fairs and market days for the schools during harvest, and they provide ongoing support to schools. According to the Kenya Ministry of Agriculture, NECOFA is a leader in the 4-K School Garden Club revival effort.

Gardens are also used as demonstration plots for the community and they provide fresh food for the children.

Not only do the children learn about progressive farming techniques, but they also learn about nutrition, conservation, environmental issues, marketing, presentation, and leadership.
